There is no single African farm or food system. Climate, land, markets, capital, and local knowledge all differ. Any useful research has to combine technical evidence with the experience of the people who grow, move, sell, and depend on food.

ETHICAL CONSIDERATIONS

A useful result cannot excuse a harmful process.

Land rights, consent, local knowledge, environmental effects, data ownership, and who earns value from the work cannot be afterthoughts.
